I’ve seen some picture knitting in blogs recently. On big bat-winged 80s style jumpers, or those vests/tops with no armhole shaping so they look like a big rectangle, that I loved in my teens. But bloggers come in a broad range of tastes, and can be delightfully individual, so I told myself it didn’t indicate a overall shift in fashion.
Then I saw it in a music video.
Nooooooo! It’s coming back. Soon there’ll be giant koalas and gum trees, landscapes and cartoon characters everywhere! Run! Run while you still can!

There was once a giant koala on a cream background, knit for me in 1990, which was worn in Japan and never again. I have no idea what mum did with it…maybe it would fit my son?? (he’s too young to care)
I’m going to grab some needles and an IK and plan me an Antidote to the Eighties!
