Yipee!

The pawls just arrived! In fact, they’ve sent rachets as well, probably just to be sure I have the whole mechanism. I am full of relief. And eagerness. But I have to resist the temptation to stop work and warp up the loom NOW.

There are challenges to working from home. Self-discipline is definitely not the least of them.

I think I can justify screwing the pawls on now, since it is just about time for my ‘lunch break’.

  1. Fantastic! If you’d like a few tips on playing with the 4-shaft let me know – I can always run you off a copy of my class notes which have some great diagrams and explanations of weave structures.

And the loom I was allocated at school is a noble loom (It feels a couple of decades old. I didn’t realise they still were in business) – I quite like the feel of it, but it seems rather sturdier than the ashford so probably won’t flatpak for easy frieght…

And I will also be attending weekend meetings at the guild having just got me a 9-5 full time job (Yippee!) Look forward to catching up “for real” ina couple of months.

  2. (just realised that I am so is excited and my mind is running so fast that I am starting all my sentences with “and” just like a 6yo! Please don’t be offended by my amateur grammer, oh great author of fantasy epics)

  3. I start my sentences with ‘And…’ all the time. Having to stick to relatively proper grammer so much of the time give you a real appreciation for the free and unfettered ways people actually speak. And write. And blog.
