You know how I said I hadn’t stuffed up yet? I lied. Or so I realised last night, anyway.
For some reason I started skipping rows 9 and 10 of the lace pattern after the first two repeats. This dawned on me when I realised the tops of the smaller ‘leaves’ weren’t coming to a point. Bottom circle indicates the correct bit, top circle shows where it isn’t.
And I didn’t realise until I’d knit the fifth repeat last night. So last night I frogged back and determinedly reknit until I had at least made it back to the position I was in at the start of the night.
It’s not a mistake, simply a new take on an existing pattern!
Will you really notice it if you leave it?
By the way, I’ve been meaning to ask, which Creative Knitting mag is your Zhivago top from? I very much like the way the band segues into the pattern.
How’s Zhivago to knit with? I have a pattern I like which calls for this yarn, and while Zhivago isn’t exactly pricey, I am a massive fiber snob and want to find out if it’s ‘good’ acrylic before I spend money on it.
Your last package is all planned. I’ll be sending it soon. Check your mailbox on about Tuesday of next week!
Secret Pal
You poor thing i really do feel for you all that work gone.Sorry if this comment makes you feel worse:)
Lyn – it’s in issue 11.
Secret Pal – Zhivago isn’t unpleasant to knit with. It’s soft. It’s also slippery. I find I have to wind it twice around my little finger to get enough tension, or I end up with cramped hands from trying to grip it. But that doesn’t bother me.
Kylie – no, it doesn’t make me feel worse. I’m very used to frogging. A lot.
